
The results have been announced for the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, launched in 2010 by the University of Indonesia and now the world's leading green campus and environmental sustainability ranking. Istanbul Medeniyet University, which applied for the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for the third time this year, ranked 672nd among 1,547 universities worldwide. Ranked 72nd among 142 universities in Türkiye, our University scored full marks in the "Waste" category, one of the six categories evaluating universities' environmental initiatives, placing it among the 33 universities worldwide that achieved this score. It shared the top spot in Türkiye with five other universities that achieved this success.
In the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which evaluates the environmental commitments and initiatives of universities from around the world in six categories using a total of 109 indicators, our university stands out for its success in the Waste, Water, and Education & Research categories. Following the Waste category, in which we ranked first globally and nationally, our university achieved 737.5 points out of 1000 in the Water category, placing 477th globally and 43rd nationally. In the Education and Research category, our university scored 1362.5 out of 1800 points, ranking 501st globally and 50th nationally in this category as well.
