Organized by the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine to share the latest developments in the field of endocrinology, the "Endocrinology Days" were held at the Elite World Grand Istanbul Hotel on December 12-13, 2025.
The fourth annual "Endocrinology Days" event held at our university this year was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik, Scientific Meeting Chair Prof. Dr. Gonca Tamer, and numerous physicians specializing in the field.
The program began with opening speeches, during which our Rector emphasized the importance of the health field within the three fundamental academic areas of universities, stating, "There are three areas of academia. When we talk about universities, three areas come to mind: social sciences, engineering, and health. However, health is different; health encompasses topics that correspond to perhaps every moment of daily life." Çelik emphasized the social impact of developments related to health, stating, "Even within a year, developments can emerge that directly affect the broadest segment of the public. In this respect, it is very important to monitor developments related to health in academia and to make them public, to reflect them in the external environment. This is where universities play an important role."
Following the speech by our Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik, participants shared comprehensive information by addressing diseases in the field of Endocrinology and Metabolism and current diagnosis and treatment methods from different perspectives. The scientific program, which saw high attendance, featured 8 panels, 9 conferences, 11 Expert Consultation sessions, 3 courses, and 2 oral presentation sessions, facilitating the transfer of the latest research and clinical experiences in the field. The two-day program successfully concluded as an educational and productive scientific platform that refreshed the knowledge and experience of specialist physicians, particularly through interactive Q&A sessions and in-depth discussions on current topics in endocrinology, greatly contributing to their professional development.
