The "Cevher Children Project" for Gifted and Talented Children to be Implemented in Collaboration with Our University and Gebze Municipality

17.12.2025

In collaboration with Gebze Municipality, our university is launching the "Cevher Children Project" for gifted and talented children in the 3rd and 4th grades in Gebze. The project aims to support the cognitive, academic, and social development of students whose potential is identified at an early age.

As part of the project, the Enriched Education Program for Gifted and Talented Children (İMÜZEP), developed by our University on scientific foundations, will be implemented. İMÜZEP consists of enriched content and activities aimed at developing students' critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and academic deepening skills.

In line with the collaboration protocol signed between our University and Gebze Municipality, the process of identifying gifted and talented students to be included in the education program will be carried out under the academic supervision of our University faculty members. The training of teachers who will be involved in the program will also be conducted by a team of experts consisting of our University faculty members.

The development of students will be monitored using scientific methods through measurement and evaluation tools applied before and after the education process, and the data obtained will be reported. Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded a certificate by our university.

Informative seminars for parents will also be organized as part of the project. These seminars aim to raise awareness about the developmental characteristics of gifted and talented children, supporting their educational processes, and the contributions that can be made in the home environment.

The entire process, from preparing the educational content to its implementation, assessment, and reporting of results, will be carried out under the leadership of our university's academics who specialize in the education of gifted and talented children. Gebze Municipality, as the project implementer, will select the gifted and talented students who will participate in the education, the teachers who will be involved in the education, and the experts who will carry out the diagnosis process. It will provide the educational facilities and equipment and manage the processes related to the implementation of the education. The "Cevher Children Project" aims to implement an exemplary education model based on university-local government cooperation.
