On Friday, June 3, the students, lecturers and administrators of the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (İMÜ TÖMER) met at the Sports Festival.

At the festival, four football teams, two basketball teams and two volleyball teams, consisting of students and lecturers, competed against each other. B. Asım Tüccar and his team managed to win the game by a single point and become the champion in basketball. In football matches, the teams of Muhammet Can, İsmail Ersoy and Erdal Kılıç were eliminated in the first round. By contrast IMU TÖMER Director Assoc. Dr. Ahmet Koçak played the final with his team. However, they lost the final match, which they brought from 2-0 to 2-2, as a result of the penalty shootout. The team consisting of YTB Scholarship students managed to win the football tournament after tough struggles. In the event, where Turkish sweets (baklava) and drinks are served to the participants, there were also other matches like billiards and table football.

At the festival, which witnessed great excitement, especially in basketball and football branches, our university Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik, General Secretary Assoc. Dr. Ekrem Tak and Our Deputy General Secretary Ali Ramazan Tak also participated. Congratulating all the students for their struggle in his speech there, Prof. Dr. Gülfettin Çelik pointed out the importance of international students participating in such social activities while learning Turkish, and he thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of this event.

The festival ended with serving dessert and a group photo shoot.
