The symposium “Turkic-Hungarian Relations in the Medieval Age - Turkic People who Became Hungarians” organized by our Faculty of Arts and Humanities was held at our university.
2024 Turkish-Hungarian Cultural Year symposium was attended by Ambassador of Hungary to Ankara Viktor MATIS, Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin ÇELİK, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar BÜLBÜL, Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekrem TAK, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof. Dr. Selim KARAHASANOĞLU, our faculty members and students.
Speaking at the symposium organized within the scope of “2024 Turkish-Hungarian Cultural Year”, our Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin ÇELİK said: “The depth of the approximately 1500-year relationship between Hungary and Turkey is spread over a wide range of fields from music to various branches of art and from politics to economy. Exploring these deep and comprehensive relations offers the opportunity to create a stronger ground not only between the two countries but also worldwide.” Underlining that these strong relations should be based on more solid foundations in the modern world, he drew attention to the importance of the common historical heritage of Turkey and Hungary.
The Symposium continued with the speech of the Ambassador of Hungary Viktor MATIS and ended after six sessions in two days and the accompanying exhibition.
