Our University has achieved a great success in Economics in ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2022 by being ranked 401-500 globally, the 3rd among all Turkish universities, and the 1st among the public universities in Turkey.

As one of the most reputable higher education ranking institutions in the world, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has published the 2022 version of its Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), one of the most comprehensive and objective rankings that has been assessing the scientific contributions of world universities according to academic subjects since 2017. The 2022 GRAS contains rankings of more than 1800 universities across 96 countries in 54 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences.

The GRAS rankings use a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure the performance of world universities in respective subjects, including research output (Q1), research influence (CNCI), international collaboration (IC), research quality (Top), and international academic awards (Award). In GRAS 2022, Istanbul Medeniyet University has achieved significant success in Economics by being ranked 401-500 globally and is proud to be the only public university among the four Turkish universities included in the ranking.

As an economics professor, Rector Prof. Dr. Gülfettin ÇELİK commented on this proud achievement of our university: “Our University has recently achieved significant success in many prestigious world rankings. I see this achievement of ours in ShanghaiRanking’s GRAS 2022 Ranking as part of our rising trend of success. Our success in economics has been confirmed by this ranking, which has particularly made me proud as an economic historian. I thank our academic staff who have made such great contributions to economics and wish continued success for all members of İstanbul Medeniyet University.”
