IMU is ranked within the top 700 globally and the 29^th in Turkey in SCImago 2022 Rankings.

The 2022 Rankings has been announced for the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), which assesses academic and research-related institutions based on three different sets of indicators; i.e., research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility. In this year’s list containing a total of 8084 institutions and 4364 universities from all over the world, Istanbul Medeniyet University (IMU) has achieved significant success by being ranked the 696^th university globally and the 29^th university in Turkey.

Impressive Achievements in the Rankings by Subject Areas:

In addition to the overall rankings, SCImago Institutions Rankings 2022 also assessed the scientific performance of universities in 19 different areas. In these rankings by subject areas, IMU has made impressive achievements and risen to a leading position in certain areas among global and national universities. To provide a few examples from the ranking list by subject areas, IMU is ranked the 1^st in Economics, Econometrics and Finance in Turkey and the 228^th globally, and the 2^nd in Environmental Science in Turkey and the 218^th globally. Significantly improving on its last year’s performance in these and many other areas, IMU is ranked the 5^th nationally and the 365^th globally in Mechanical Engineering; the 6^th nationally and the 643^rd globally in Business, Management and Accounting; the 3^rd nationally and the 398^th globally in Psychiatry and Mental Health; and the 5^th nationally and the 236^th globally in Ophthalmology.
