The conference titled "Current Issues in the Legal Profession," organized by Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Law to address the current problems and changing structure of the legal profession, was held on December 30, 2025, at the Ziraat Bank Hall of the Central Library.

The program, hosted by the Faculty of Law, was attended by Istanbul Bar Association Vice President Attorney Rukiye Leyla Süren, as well as faculty members and students.

In the opening speech delivered by Lecturer Dr. Alper Çohaz, the importance of strengthening the relationship between legal education and professional practice was emphasized. Following the opening, Attorney Rukiye Leyla Süren spoke about the position of the legal profession within the judicial system, the effective use of the right to defense, professional independence, and current legislative changes. Süren also shared her experiences with the participants regarding the current problems lawyers face in their professional lives and her suggestions for solutions.

The program continued with a question-and-answer session, where students had the opportunity to discuss topics they were curious about regarding the legal profession directly with someone from the field. The event, which saw high participation, contributed to increasing professional awareness among students.
