Civil Works for the Göztepe City Hospital Drawing Near to the End

Showing an exemplary success during the Coronavirus pandemic, the Göztepe Training and Research Hospital is now counting down on days to have the new hospital building.

One of the greatest investments of the Ministry of Health in Istanbul, the Göztepe City Hospital, which broke ground for renewal in 2014, has now reached a completion level of 90 percent for its first stage. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave the happy news that the first stage of the Göztepe City Hospital will be launched into public service in September. Planned at an area of 256 thousand square meters and with an inpatient bed availability of 1000, the hospital, once opened for public use, will be one of the state-of-the-art hospitals of Turkey.

Constructed with 13 floors and 3 blocks, the hospital will have an inpatient bed capacity of 688 in the first stage. With an additional section designed for the second stage, it will attain full capacity to serve Istanbulites, meeting a patient demand of 6 to 7 thousand people per day.

With an inpatient bed availability of 1000, the Göztepe City Hospital will house 20 operating rooms, 1 maternity operating room, 40 delivery rooms, 231 outpatient rooms, 15 laboratory rooms, 15 MRI rooms, 8 X-ray rooms, 3 tomography rooms, 5 ultrasound imaging rooms, 26 medical imaging rooms and 28 elevators. Constructed using a total of 385 seismic isolators, the Göztepe City Hospital will, without any disruption, be able to continue all medical services and surgeries even in the event of an earthquake.
