Participating in the International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized as part of TEKNOFEST for the second time this year, BMT Hidrocar Team of our university achieved significant success in the competition with the hydrogen-fueled vehicle design they developed. BMT Hidrocar Team, which consists of 10 students from various departments of our Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, became one of the finalists in the Hydromobile category of this year's competition.
In hydrogen-fueled cars that generate power by converting hydrogen gas into electricity with a fuel cell, water vapor is produced as waste from the burned hydrogen gas. Therefore, the hydrogen-fueled vehicle developed by the BMT Hidrocar Team has a zero-emission and environmentally friendly design.
BMT Hidrocar Team designed and produced the vehicle's control system, energy management system, battery management system, battery packaging, motor drive, insulation monitoring device and telemetry system locally, and also carried out the shell and interior design of the vehicle themselves. Our students produced the vehicle at our University's Science and Advanced Technology Application and Research Center (BİLTAM) with the support of Medeniyet Teknopark.

About International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races
The aim of the competition is to promote the use of alternative and clean energy sources, provide technical and vocational experience in the automotive sector, impart teamwork skills to students, and contribute to the development of human resources for electric vehicle advancements in the country. The competition consists of two categories: Electromobile (battery-powered electric vehicle) and Hydromobile (electric vehicle powered by hydrogen). Since 2022, the Hydromobile races have been organized with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkish Energy, Nuclear, and Mineral Research Institute (TENMAK).
