An Enthusiastic Welcome to our New Students in our Orientation Week

We have completed our Orientation Week organized on 24-25-26 September for our new students who registered and started their studies in 2019-2020 academic year in the English preparation program or first-year courses in their respective programs.

For three days in a row, our students were provided information about our University in our South, Cevizli, and Orhanlı Campuses, respectively. The first of the Orientation Days was held on September 24 in our South Campus for the new students of our Faculties of Medicine, Arts & Humanities, Engineering and Natural Sciences, and Political Sciences. In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Sarıoğlu congratulated the students for the new academic year said: “Last year, you were studying for your dreams and now, you are where you can realize them.” His speech was followed by informative presentations by the staff of our Departments of Health, Culture and Sports, Library and Documentation, Student Affairs, and Information Technologies.

Following the first day of the Orientation Week in our South Campus, the 2nd of the orientation days was held in Cevizli campus on September 25 and attended by the students of our Faculties of Education Sciences, Law, Art, Design and Architecture, and Health Sciences. Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Faruk Bal delivered the opening speech, in which he congratulated the students and underlined the young and dynamic quality of our University and the advantages of the fact that it is located in the culturally rich city Istanbul. The event also continued with Departmental presentations on the second day.

The last day of the Orientation Week was organized in our Orhanlı Campus for the new students of our Faculties of Dentistry and Tourism and our School of Foreign Languages. The opening speech was delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül, who congratulated our students for their success in being selected for our programs and emphasized our strength in having such a distinguished academic staff and the fact that we always support our students in their self-improvement. Vice Rector’s speech was again followed by Departmental presentations.

Throughout the week, students representing our student clubs opened booths to introduce their activities to new students. For three days, the events in the conference halls were followed by lunches in the Khedive Palace and Bosphorus tours, all organized by our Department of Health, Culture and Sports for our students.
