The Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Aleppo University, İbrahim Şâşu, and his delegation visited our University on Friday, December 12, 2025. During the meeting, attended by Aleppo Deputy Governor Abdurrahman Gözüm, Abdullah Vâhidi, Abdurrahman Şaşu, and Lawyer Şamil Yıldırım from the Aleppo delegation, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül, Dean of our Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Alican Dağdeviren and Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sami Baga and Asst. Prof Dr. Muhammed Faruk Çakır, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Cemal Kalkan from our Faculty of Law.

During the highly productive meeting, the possibilities for educational, research, and cultural cooperation between Istanbul Medeniyet University and academic institutions in Syria were discussed. Within the scope of cooperation in the field of education, the topics of accepting students for short-term or semester-long education programs, faculty exchange between the two universities, supporting mutual academic visits, joint curriculum work, certificate programs, and the preparation of education and application modules were discussed. Within the framework of cooperation in the field of language education, the establishment of Arabic language courses in Aleppo for Turkish students and the development of Turkish language teaching activities for young people in Aleppo were discussed. Finally, details regarding the planning of a joint international symposium to be held alternately in Istanbul and Aleppo were discussed.
