6th International Conference on Recent Advances in Pure and Applied Mathematics Held in IMU


The 6th International Conference on Recent Advances in Pure and Applied Mathematics (ICRAPAM 2019) held on 12-15 June 2019 brought together eminent mathematicians from all around the world in our University.

Hosted by Istanbul Medeniyet University and sponsored by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Üsküdar Municipality, and Kanyon College, the conference started with the opening ceremony in our South Campus on June 12th, Wednesday. The event was opened by the speech of Assoc. Prof. Rahmet Savaş, Congress Chair and the head of our Mathematics Department, which was followed by a trailer providing information about the previous ICRAPAM conferences.

In his opening speech, Prof. Yaşar Bülbül, Honorary Chair and Vice-Rector of Istanbul Medeniyet University, touched on the relationship between mathematics and social sciences and expressed our pleasure in hosting such an important conference.

The Vice-Rector’s speech was followed by the opening speech of Prof. Ekrem Savaş, Honorary Chair and Rector of Uşak University, who emphasized the importance of mathematics in the development of countries and the role of congresses in improving the cooperation between young and experienced mathematicians. Finally, the guest speakers delivered their speeches.

The conference continued for three days with a total of 24 sessions to seek for solutions to the current problems in mathematics with six guest speakers and mathematicians coming from fifteen different countries. Following the poster presentations on the final day, the conference ended with the closing ceremony.
