“Istanbul Urban Studies”, organized by Istanbul Medeniyet University Urban and Regional Planning Department, is a seminar series that will allow to discuss urban dynamics that affect and shape Istanbul in history; changes in urban fabric and developments in the city agenda. The seminars aim to discuss the urban structure of Istanbul in a multi-dimensional way via examining the city through different aspects, different perspectives, different scales, different actor groups and different disciplines. In this context, seminars are open to all researchers who conduct research on Istanbul in the context of the city and place, and want to open their up-to-date research results to discussion by presenting.
The second seminar series which will start in September, will be held weekly and end in November. At the end of the seminars, the researches selected by the editors will be published as a book chapter. With this book to be published, it is aimed to share the discussions about Istanbul and shed light on future research opportunities.
Those who want to present their research are requested to fill in the form shared on the link below and to submit their research abstracts of maximum 300 words to the organizing commission. After the requests are examined by the editors and organizing commission, the relevant topics will be gathered and monthly seminar programs will be announced.
