  3. For admission into the programs, candidates are required to take “İstanbul Medeniyet University International Student Selection Exam” (IMUYOSS) administered by Istanbul Medeniyet University (IMU). As a prerequisite to taking the IMUYOSS exam, candidates are required to have taken the University Admission Test in their respective countries and achieved the minimum score given in Appendix 1; or if their country or the related exam are not shown in the table, then they are required to have achieved at least 40 percent of the maximum possible score in their national exam (see Appendix 1); or they are required to have achieved the minimum scores given below for each international exam:

a) A minimum total score of 1000 and a minimum math score of 600 on SAT1 (The exam result cannot be older than two years),

b) A minimum mathematics, science reasoning and composite score of 21 on ACT (The exam result cannot be older than two years),

c) A level in at least three subjects on GCE (A Level Exam) (at least one of the subjects should be related to the applied program),

d) A minimum diploma grade of 28/42 on ABI,

e) At least 4/1 (Inverse Matrix) on ABITUR; or the candidates are required to have taken the University exam in Turkey in the last two years and achieved a higher score than the minimum score required for the program they are applying to. Syrian students who were forced to migrate to Turkey are not required to present any national or international exam result.

Applications will be made between 28 May – 22 June 2018 via the online form at https://obs.medeniyet.edu.tr/oibs/ogrsis/basvuru_yabanci_login.aspx.

The form asks the candidates to fill in their personal information, upload the required documents in PDF format, and indicate the domain to which they want to apply; i.e., one of verbal, quantitative, or equally weighted domains. Candidates can only select from among the programs pertaining to the domain they have indicated. Therefore, take careful note of the particular domain in Table 1 pertaining to the program you want to be placed in and mark this domain in the application form. You can select a maximum of five programs in your domain of application.

The form also contains options regarding the exam venue for IMUYOSS. Since your placement in any program depends on you taking the exam and your score, your exam venue selection is extremely important. IMUYOSS exam is planned to be administered in three venues; i.e., IMU’s Göztepe Campus in Istanbul/Turkey, as well as in Sarajevo/Bosnia-Herzegovina and Abuja/Nigeria with relevant permits obtained. You can choose from one of these three alternative exam venues. Detailed information as to the exact exam locations and hours for Sarajevo/Bosnia-Herzegovina and Abuja/Nigeria will be announced on IMU’s website on a later date. Any changes about the exam venues and hours will also be announced on the website. The exam will be administered simultaneously and using the same questions in these three venues. During placement, all exam results will be assessed conjointly and no separate quotas will be allocated to any exam venue.

Your score in the IMUYOSS exam will be the sole criteria for the acceptance of your application. You cannot be placed and admitted in case you do not take the exam. Therefore, please be careful about your domain and exam venue selection.

The programs and related domains are announced prior to application and the applicants are asked to indicate their domain preference in the IMUYOSS application form. Candidates can only make admission and placement application for the programs pertaining to their selected domain. IMUYOSS assessed on a grading scale of 100 points and the exam result is valid for two years. Candidates are required to obtain a minimum score of 50 in order to apply for placement.

The applicants are required to bring the following to the exam venue:
